Community College Student Leader Union Summit
Dear Phi Theta Kappans,
Following is an invitation from David Searle, international vice-president of Phi Theta Kappa. This is an open invitation and if you are interested in attending please come to the meeting on Thursday Feb. 17th, or reach out to one of our advisors.
This is a great oportunity not only to get points for your participation but also to network. Also, if you’re considering applying to an Officer position this is a great head-start!
Any questions do not hesitate to contact me at mbraga@ptkiotaxi.org.

Greetings student leaders and advisors,
My name is David Seale. I am a student at the County College of Morris, in Randolph, New Jersey. I am a former President of the Student Government, and the current International Vice-President for Phi Theta Kappa, International Honors Society for Two-Year Colleges. In 2008, I formed the New Jersey Community College Student Leader Union, a student led and student organized group aimed at facilitating inter-collegiate discussions concerning budget challenges. I hope to continue these efforts this year, with the added intent of furthering the nation’s Community College Completion Agenda and discussing C4 (Community College Completion Corps).
Natalie Lattimore (Student Government President of County College of Morris) and I would like to invite you to this year’s (hopefully annual) summit, hosted by CCM. We will begin with a welcome from our College President, follow with an informal debriefing regarding these issues, and conclude with a group discussion concerning the obstacles that individual institutions are facing, as well as possible action points that we – as a coalition – can take to mitigate these budget and graduation challenges. This summit assumes no prior knowledge or experience related to these issues, and all are welcome. I ask you to seek the means to attend and to encourage other student leaders and groups on your campus to do the same.
Lunch will be provided by County College of Morris’ Student Government Association’s College Progress Grant.
Date: February 18th
Time: Check-in: 9:00am-10:30am, Adjournment: 3pm

Professionally,
