Sign ups for the Blood Drive on October 6th

From 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, volunteers will pick up and record garbage found on the beach. After the garbage has been weighed and the inventory forms completed and submitted, the volunteers will go to Maclearne Park, about 1/2 mile away, for a picnic. See Google Map. Go straight on 16th Avenue and make a right on Briarwood to the park. Regional officers will speak about the regional project.

Have fun helping to keep the beach clean, complete the inventory forms for the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection, and meet members from sister chapters. As suggested by chapter presidents and the NJ state president, a picnic should follow the cleanup, which each chapter bringing food for the picnic. Chafing dishes will be set up and there are grills in the park. Please advise what you plan to add to what Beta Alpha Phi will have for the picnic. At least two volunteers should set up for the picnic while others clean the beach.

Along with some great proposals presented, as well as intense debates on said porposals, the chapter officers workshop was full of useful information on the inner workers of Phi Theta Kappa and Iota Xi for newer chapter officers, including myself.

At the meeting last Friday, I was able to observe that the planning and preparation for all the events that Iota Xi hosts is done early in the year so that these events can reach their fullest potential. As Committee Leader for Honors and Scholarship, I understand my role in making our chapter a success and am completely committed to documenting our events and archiving our activites on this blog.
